and may level and grade the said streets and alleys
or any of them, in whole or in part, and cause bridges
or culverts to be made over the water courses or hol-
lows in said streets or alleys and crossing places, of
stone, at convenient points over the same.

Hogs & geese
not to run at
large.
|
SEC. 332. No person shall raise or keep any hogs
or geese within said town, except in enclosures, or
suffer any hogs or geese to go and remain at large
therein, and if any hogs or geese of any inhabitant
of said town, be found at large therein, any person
may kill the same.

. Shall not con-
tract debts, &c.
|
SEC. S33. The said burgess and commissioners
shall not contract any debt or liability unless they
shall have beforehand by levy of taxes or other lawful
method, provided for the payment thereof, and in no
case shall they allow the aggregate amount of the
liabilities or indebtedness or said corporation to
exceed its cash assets more than one hundred dollars.

Duties of the
Treasurer.
|
SEC. 334. The treasurer of said corporation shall
at the close of each year, make an itemized account
of all the receipts and expenditures of said corpora-
tion during said year, also an itemized statement of
all the out-standing debts of said corporation, which
shall be printed and publicly put up at the place for
holding the town election for the ensuing year.

SEC 2.. And be it enacted, That the election held
in the Town of Williamsport, Washington county,
on the first Monday in March eighteen hundred and
seventy-five, for burgess, assistant burgess and five
commissioners for said town, be and the same is
hereby confirmed and made valid to all intents and
purposes, and that the action of the said officers in
appointing a bailiff for said town, is hereby con-
firmed and made valid.
