Proviso.
|
6. Provided, however, that nothing in the pre-
|
|
 
|
ceding sections of this article shall be so construed
|
|
 
|
as to make usury a cause of action in any case where
|
|
 
|
the bond, bill obligatory, promissory note, bill of
|
|
 
|
exchange, or other evidence of indebtedness, has
|
|
 
|
been redeemed or settled for by the obligor or obli-
|
|
 
|
gors, in money or other valuable consideration,
|
|
 
|
except that of a renewal in whole or in part of the
|
|
 
|
original indebtedness, but this section shall not ap-
|
|
 
|
ply to any cases of claims or suits now instituted by
|
|
 
|
assignees in bankruptcy.

CHAPTER 360.
|
|
 
|
AN ACT to repeal section seventy, of article seven-
|
|
 
|
teen, of the Co'de of Public Local Laws, title
|
|
 
|
" Queen Anne's," sub-title " Crier," and re-enact
|
|
 
|
the same with amendments.
|
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
Repealed and
|
Maryland, That section seventy, of article seventeen,
|
|
re-enacted.
|
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Queen
|
|
 
|
Anne's," sub-title " Crier," be and the same is
|
|
 
|
hereby repealed, and re-enacted so as to read as
|
|
 
|
follows :
|
|
 
|
SECTION 70. The Crier of the Circuit Court for
|
|
Compeiisati'n
|
said county, shall be entitled to three dollars a day
|
|
 
|
for each day he shall attend the sittings of said court,
|
|
 
|
in lieu of all fees; and the Crier of the Orphans'
|
|
 
|
Court, one dollar and fifty cents for each day.
|
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
|
|
 
|
