that the said history is a faithful history of the State

of Maryland and deserves the patronage of the State;

and that upon the delivery of said books to the State
|
 
|
|
Library, the Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby
|
 
|
|
directed to issue his warrant to the treasurer to pay
|
 
|
|
said J. Thomas Scharf for the said History of Mary-
|
 
|
|
land at the rate often dollars per copy.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That two hundred and
|
 
|
|
fifty copies, of said Scarf's History of Maryland,
|

shall be distributed by the State Librarian to such
|
 
|
|
State and county officers, in the various counties and
|
 
|
|
the City of Baltimore, or exchanged for useful pub-
|
 
|
|
lications, in other States, as the Governor shall direct.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
|
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to declare the sanction of the General As-

sembly of Maryland, to the bequest of Henrietta
|
 
|
|
M. Bruff, late of Kent county, deceased, to the
|
 
|
|
Vestry of St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church,
|
 
|
|
Chester Parish, at Chestertown in said county.
|
 
|
|
WHEREAS, Henrietta M. Bruff, late of Kent county,
|
 
|
|
deceased, by her last will and testament, duly ad-
|

mitted to probate in the Orphan's Court of Kent
|
 
|
|
county, on the eighteenth day of March, in the year
|
 
|
|
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, be-
|
 
|
|
queathed unto the Vestry of St. Paul's Protestant
|
 
|
|
Episcopal Church, Chester Parish at Chestertown,
|
 
|
|
in said county, and their successors, one thousand
|
 
|
|
dollars (being a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Bond,
|
 
|
|
for that amount) for the use and benefit of said
|
 
|
|
church; therefore,
