CHAPTER 340.

 

AN ACT to repeal sub-sections three, four and

 

twenty-one, of section three, of chapter four hun-

 

dred and eighty-three, of the acts of eighteen

 

hundred and seventy-four, entitled "an act to

 

repeal article eighty-one, of the Code of Public

 

General Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled

 

"Revenue and Taxes," and to re-enact the same

 

with amendments, and re-enact the same so as to

 

read as follows :

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That sub-sections three, four and twenty-

one, of section three, of chapter four hundred and

 

eighty-three, of the acts of eighteen hundred and

 

seventy-four, entitled " an act to repeal article eighty-

 

one, of the Code of Public General Laws of the

 

State of Maryland," entitled " Revenue and Taxes,"

 

and to re-enact the same with amendments, be and

 

the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as

 

to read as follows, viz :

 

SECTION 3. That the provisions of the preceding

 

section shall not apply to property belonging to the

buildings used exclusively for public worship, and

 

the furniture contained therein, and the ground

longing to any church or congregation; the crop or

 

produce of any land in this State in the hands of the

whom the same shall belong; the working tools of

 

mechanics and manufacturers, moved or worked

 

exclusively by hand; wearing apparel of every

 

description; fish, while in the possession of the fish-

 

ermen employed in catching, salting and packing

 

the same, and while they remain in their possession,

 

or in that of their agents, unsold; hospitals or asy-
