levies as may be necessary to keep such bridge and
|

|
the approaches thereto, for a distance of one hundred
|
|
 
|
yards in good repair, and to furnish a keeper for the
|
|
 
|
draw of said bridge; provided, the same shall not
|
|
 
|
exceed the yearly sum of three hundred dollars for
|
|
 
|
each county.
|
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said bridge shall be
|
|

a free bridge, and shall be controlled by the County

Commissioners of Queen Anne's and Talbot coun-
|
|
 
|
ties, in such manner as to them may seem expedi-
|
|
 
|
ent, but they shall not employ a keeper of the draw
|
|

to said bridge at a compensation of more than four
|
|
 
|
hundred dollars per year.
|
|
 
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That if a substantial
|
|

bridge cannot be built for four thousand dollars, the

sum.

additional sum necessary therefor, and for the pur-
|
|
 
|
pose of grading the causeway leading to said bridge,
|
|
 
|
shall be levied by the County Commissioners of
|
|

Queen Anne's and Talbot counties respectively; pro-
|
|

vided, the same shall not exceed the sum of one thou-
|
|
 
|
sand dollars for each county.

|
 
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all acts done and
|
|

performed, and all contracts made and entered into
|
|
confirmed.

by the county commissioners of said counties, acting
|
|
 
|
under or in virtue of any act or acts heretofore
|
|
 
|
passed in relation to said Kent Narrows and hereby
|
|
 
|
repealed, be and they are hereby ratified and con-
|
|
 
|
firmed, and the same have all the force and effect in
|
|
 
|
law as if said act or acts had not been repealed.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
|
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.
