CHAPTER 32.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners
of Wicomico county to levy a sum of money for
the support of William Benjamin Gordy, while
in an insane asylum.
|
Authorized to
levy.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Wi-
comico county be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered, to levy annually upon the assessable
property, of said county, a sum of money not ex-
ceeding two hundred dollars for any one year, to be
appropriated to the maintenance of William Benja-
min Gordy, an insane citizen of said county, while
kept in the Maryland Hospital or some other insti-
tution of like character, during the time of his
lunacy.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate Talbot County Canal and
Navigation Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Gustavus A. Pfeltz, Richard S.
Dodson, Ormond Hammond, Charles H. Gibson, and
H. Clay Dodson, and their assigns, be and they are
hereby created and made a corporation and body

politic in law and. in fact, by the name and style of
the Talbot County Canal and Navigation Company,
and by that name may have perpetual succession,
may sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any
court of law or equity, make and use a common seal,
and alter the same at pleasure, and may also provide
and establish such by-laws and regulations as may be
