AND WHEKEAS, it appears to the General Assembly
|
|
|
of Maryland, that the services contemplated by the
|
|
|
said acts have been rendered, according to the true
|
Preamble.
|
|
intent and meaning of the same, at the March term,
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and seventy-four, of the District
|
|
|
Court of the United States for the Maryland dis-
|
|
|
trict.
|
|
|
AND WHEREAS, said counsel are still retained by
|
Preamble.
|
|
authority of the Governor, to represent the State in
|
|
|
the case of said William H. Whiteley, now pending
|
|
|
before said court; therefore,
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury of
|
|
|
the State of Maryland, shall forthwith issue to the
|

in favor of.

Treasurer of Maryland, his warrant authorizing and
|
|
|
directing him to pay to the said Philip W. Downes
|
|
|
and George M. Russum, the sum of one hundred
|
|
|
and fifty dollars each, out of the fund appropriated
|
|
|
by chapter sixty-one of the acts of eighteen hundred
|
|
|
and seventy-four, in full compensation for all legal
|
|
|
services rendered by them in said cases.
