missioners, of Worcester county, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to use and appropriate, out of the permanent free school fund of said county, money to an amount not exceeding five thousand dollars, towards building, repairing, and purchasing school houses in said county.

Repealed.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts of Assembly or any parts thereof, inconsistent with the provisions of this act be and the same are hereby repealed.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 70.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of the counsel employed to represent the State in the arbitration between Maryland and Virginia, upon the boundary between the said States, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor and for the other expenses of the said arbitration.
|

Appropriat'n to pay counsel
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the sum of twelve thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay Isaac D. Jones and William Pinkney Whyte, Esqs., the counsel heretofore employed by the Governor to represent the State in the arbitration upon the boundary line between the States of Maryland and Virginia; and the comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the treasurer for the payment of three thousand dollars to each of said counsel upon the passage of this act; and to issue a like warrant for the sum of three thousand dollars, to each of said counsel, whenever the Governor shall certify to him that the award of the arbitrators has been made, which said sum shall be in
