SEC. 7. And be it enacted That any money that may
be in the treasury at the expiration of any year from
the levy thereof, over and above paying the damages
sustained by the inhabitants of the county in the loss
or injury of sheep by dogs, shall be by the treasurer
on the warrant of the county commissioners, paid to
the Board of Commissioners of Public Schools of
Allegany county, to be by them applied to the pur-
pose of education.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That any dog kept or
staying about a house shall be deemed sufficient evi-
dence of ownership to authorize the collector to
return the person inhabiting said house as the owner
or possessor of such dog, and any person sending his

dog from house to house, or place to place, to avoid
the said tax, shall be liable to pay double tax there-
for, and every dog not returned shall be deemed to
have no owner, and may be killed by any person
seeing him running at large.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That if any dog shall be
seen running sheep any person may kill him, or if
any dog shall have been known to worry sheep, and
information thereof be given to the"owner thereof,
if he does not kill such dog he shall make full com-
pensation for all damages done by it, and any person
seeing the dog running at large may kill him.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall not
apply to dogs owned or kept within the corporate
limits of any town or city in Allegany county where
dogs are taxed by town or city ordinance.
