LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

CHAPTER 164.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments
sections one and three of chapter thirty-five of the
acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-four, entitled
"an act to incorporate the Methodist Episcopal
Church at Port Deposit, " providing for the elec-
tion of trustees of said church, and changing the
name of said church to that of " The Trustees of
the Tome Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church
in Port Deposit.

Repealed and
re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections one and three, of chapter
thirty-five of the acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-
four, entitled "an act to incorporate the Methodist
Episcopal Church at Port Deposit, " be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:

Incorporators.

1. Elijah Reynolds, E. D. McClenahan, Theodore
J. Vauneman, Thomas C. Bond, James A. Davis,
Daniel Vauneman, Wesley W. Nickle and their suc-
cessors, chosen as hereinafter provided for, shall be
and are hereby created a body corporate and politic,

by the name, style and title of the trustees of the
Tome Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church in
Port Deposit, and by the same name shall have per-
petual succession, to have, hold, enjoy and be seized
and possessed of real and personal and mixed estate,
to sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded in any
court of law or equity in this State or elsewhere, to
make and have a common seal and the same to break,
alter or renew at pleasure, and also to do all such
other acts and things as corporate bodies may of
right do, not inconsistent with the laws of this State,
or with the constitution and laws of the United
States, or the discipline of the Methodist Episcopal
Church.

Fill vacancies.

3. That whenever any vacancy shall occur in con-
sequence of the death, removal or resignation of any
of said trustees, the remaining trustees shall fill the
