SEC 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act contained shall be construed to make any sheriff answerable for the failure to collect any fees so placed in his hands as aforesaid, unless the same by the use of due diligence could have been collected.	Not be con- strued.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the date of its passage. Approved February 18, 1876.	In force.

CHAPTER 23.
AN ACT to repeal an act entitled "An act to re- quire all auctioneers making sales in Baltimore county, to pay a license fee. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an act entitled "An act to require all auctioneers making sales in Baltimore county, to pay a license fee, " passed at January session eighteen hundred and seventy-four, chapter four hundred and seventy-three be and the same is hereby repealed.	Repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the first day of May next ensuing. Approved February 18, 1876.	In force.

AN ACT to incorporate the Ocean City Bridge Company.
WHEREAS, during the interval since the last session of the Legislature, public. necessity urgently de- manded a bridge across Synepuxent Bay, from Hom- mock Point to Ocean city, in Worcester county, and	Preamble.
