Give bond.

stabling to be at all times sufficient for five horses at
least, all said beds and chambers to be and remain
on the same premises on which intoxicating liquor
is by this act licensed to be sold, and each applicant
shall also file in the office of said clerk, his bond duly
executed to the State of Maryland, with at least two
sureties to be approved by said clerk, in the penal
sum of fifteen hundred dollars, conditioned for the
faithful observance of the provisions of this act, and
the payment of any and all fines, penalties and clam-
ages which may be imposed or recovered under the
act, which said bond shall be responsible to all such
persons hereinafter described as may be injured by
the sale of intoxicating liquors sold by any person

licensed under this act; provided however, that if
there shall not be twelve freeholders resident in the
school district in which the house may be situated
where intoxicating liquors is expected to be sold, or
if said house be not situated within the limits of any
school district, in such case it shall be sufficient that
the certificate required by this section, shall be signed
by twelve freeholders, resident in the election district
in which such hotel may be situated.

SEC. 169. Before any person can obtain a license
under this act he shall be required to pay to the said
clerk for the license to be issued as hereinafter di-
rected, for each place of sale of intoxicating liquor
the sum of money which is now, or which may here-
after be required by the general law of the State, to
be paid into the Treasury of the State, and shall in
addition thereto pay the said clerk for a license to
sell by the drink the sum of one hundred dollars, or
for a license to sell by measure, fifty dollars for one
year, or for a fractional part of a year pro raid, to be
paid by said clerk to the Board of County School
Commissioners of Worcester county, to be by said
board applied to and used as a part of the public gene-

ral school fund of said county, and the bond of the
said clerk shall be liable for the payment of said
money on suit instituted by said board, and all licen-
ses issued under this act shall expire on the first day
of May next thereafter, and whenever the foregoing
provisions have been fully complied with, it shall be
the duty of the said clerk to issue to the applicant
