SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its date of passage.

CHAPTER 146.
AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of Worcester
county to determine by ballot whether spirituous
or fermented liquors shall not be sold in said
county, or shall be sold only as hereinafter de-
scribed, and to repeal all acts inconsistent here-
with.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That chapter one hundred and sixty-three
of the acts passed at January session eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-four, shall not remain in force on
and after the first day of May next, and that all acts
or parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of

Repealed.

this act are hereby repealed: provided however, that
this act shall not be construed to affect any offence
already committed, but all such offences may be
prosecuted and punished under the law existing at
the time of the commission of said respective offences.

Proviso.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the questions
whether or not any person or persons, or any house
as hereinafter described may be licensed in Worces-
ter county of this State, by whom or in which spirit-
uous or fermented liquors may be sold, or whether
or not no license to sell the same in Worcester county
shall be issued, shall be submitted to the people of
said county on Tuesday the twenty-fifth of April,
