hereinafter directed by section forty-nine of this act,
and he shall collect and account for all county taxes
levied in each current year, except such as may be de-
termined to be uncollectible within twelve months af-
ter the said taxes are due and in arrear, and account
for the same according to law, and all persons who
shall pay their county taxes to the said treasurer on
or before the first day of July succeeding the date of
its levy shall be entitled to a deduction of eight per
cent, on the amount of said taxes, and all who pay
the same on or before the first day of October, suc-
ceeding the date of its levy, shall be entitled to a de-
duction of four per cent, and at the time of receiving
said taxes the treasurer shall make the deduction
aforesaid, and note the same upon the. receipt given
for same; and all county taxes shall be consid-
ered due and in arrears on the first day of October
succeeding the date of their levy and shall bear in-
terest from that date.

SECTION 57. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Prince
George's county shall levy annually one and a half
per cent, on the amount of State and county taxes to
be placed in the hands of the treasurer of said county
for collection, and pay the same to the said treasurer
for clerk hire and necessary labor required to carry
on said office, and that the said treasurer be allowed

in his settlements hereafter to be made with the
county commissioners one and a half per cent, on
the amount of county taxes heretofore placed in his
hands for collection in payment of clerk hire and
necessary labor, heretofore employed by him.

SEC. 58. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from its passage.
