LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

CHAPTER 99.

AN ACT to repeal section eighty-one of article four-
teen of the Code of Public Local Laws, title '' Kent
county, " sub-title " County Commissioners, " and
to amend and re-enact the same with amendments
and to add a sub-section thereto, and to provide
for the appointment of two County Commissioners
by the Governor, to serve until the next general
election.

Repealed,
amended and
re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section eighty -one of article fourteen
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title " Kent coun-
ty, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " be, and the
same is hereby repealed, amended and re-enacted
with an amendment, and to add a sub-section to said
article and section so as to read as follows.

ers.

81. There shall be five Commissioners for Kent
county.

General super-
vision.

SUB-SECTION. The county commissioners shall have
the general supervision of the public roads in Kent
county, and the work done thereon, and for this pur-
pose they shall at(their first meeting in January after
their election and qualification, assign among them-
selves the different districts of the county, one of
said commissioners to each of said districts, whose
duty it shall be to supervise all the public roads in
the districts assigned to him, and to go over said
roads at least one and not more than two days in
each month, for which services they shall be entitled

performed by them; and before the accounts of any
person appointed as supervisor under them by the
board of county commissioners are passed and paid
by the said board, they shall have first the endorse-
ment and approval of the said county commissioner
thus assigned to, and put in chaise of said district.

SEC. 2. And be it farther enacted by the General As-
sembly, That until the next general election there
shall be appointed by the Governor, two persons of
