LAWS OF MARYLAND.

 

CHAPTER 94.

AN ACT to authorize the Liberty and New Wind-
sor Turnpike Road Company in Frederick and
Carroll counties to issue its bonds to aid in the
construction of its road and to secure the same by
mortgage.

Issue bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Liberty and New Windsor Turn-
pike Road Company in Frederick and Carroll coun-
ties, a corporation chartered by an act of the General
Assembly of Maryland, of eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, chapter ninety-six, and its supplements,
be and hereby is authorized and empowered to issue
its bonds to an amount not to exceed the sum of fif-
teen thousand dollars to aid in the construction of
its road and to secure the same by mortgage on its
property and rights of property of all kinds and de-
scriptions, real, personal and mixed, including its
franchise as a corporation.

Authorized.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Lib-
erty and New Windsor Turnpike Road Company in
addition to the bonds authorized to be issued by the
first section of this act, is hereby further authorized
and empowered to issue its bonds for any indebted-
ness of said company, now due and owing on account
of the building, construction or repair of said turn-
pike road, whether for work done, materials provided
or money lent, and to secure the same in like man-
ner and to the same extent as provided in the first
section of this act.

When in force

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall take effect and be in force from and after the
date of its acceptance by a majority, in value, of the
bonafide stockholders of said turnpike road company,
at a special meeting of the stockholders of said com-
pany called for this purpose; the General Assembly
reserves to itself the right to alter, amend or repeal

Reserved.

this act at its pleasure, having due regard to the
rights of any and all bondholders and mortgagees of
said company under the provisions of this act.
