Penalty.
|
at any place, or give away at his, her or their place
of business any spirituous or fermented liquors, after
the first day of May next, he, she or they shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction
thereof in the Circuit Court for said county, shall be
fined for each and every offence, not more than two
hundred nor less than fifty dollars, one half thereof
to be paid to the informer, and on failure to pay the
same, together with the costs of prosecution shall be
committed to jail, and confined therein until such
fine and costs are paid.

Not to sell. &c
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful
for the keeper of any hotel, tavern, store, drinking
establishment or any other place where liquors are
sold, or for any person or persons directly or indi-
rectly to sell, barter, give or dispose of any spirituous
or fermented liquors; at any place within the limits
of Wicomico county, on the twenty-fourth day of
April, eighteen hundred and seventy-six.

Penalty.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That any person violating
the provisions of the preceding section, shall be liable
to indictment by the Grand Jury of Wicomico county,
and shall on conviction in the Circuit Court for said
county, be fined a sum not less than fifty nor more
than one hundred dollars for each and every offence,
one-half of which fine shall be paid to the informer
and the other half to the Treasurer of the State of
Maryland.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
