or any one of them, are hereby authorised to administer an
oath or affirmation, as the case may be, to every person so summoned,
that he will, without favour, affection, partiality or prejudice,
assess the damages sustained by the person or persons at whose
request such inquisition shall be taken by reason or opening the
aforesaid road through his, her or their land, and the persons so
summoned and qualified, shall thereupon proceed to assess and
value the damages accordingly, of which the said president and managers,
or some one of them, shall have given at least ten days notice,
and such inquisition shall be final and conclusive between the
parties; and in assessing the damages the jury shall take into consideration
the conveniencies and inconveniencies, the advantages
and disadvantages, if any, arising to the proprietors of the land
over which the said road may pass. |

CHAP. CXXIX.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Baltimore County
to assess and levy a sum of Money for the support and
maintenance
of John Boyer, Thomas Fowler, and Isabella Fowler his
Wife.

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the levy court of Baltimore county shall be and they are hereby
directed and empowered, at their levy court annually, so long as
they shall see cause, to assess and levy, on the assessable property
of said county, a sum of money, not exceeding ninety dollars, for
the support and maintenance of the said John Boyer, Thomas Fowler,
and Isabella Fowler, his wife, and that the same be collected
annually by the collector or collectors of Baltimore county, and
thirty dollars thereof paid to each of the said persons, or to his or
her order. |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for Jacob Knode, Garhard Stonebreaker,
junior, John Shafer, Henry Shafer, Henry Bentz, Abraham
Schmutz and Frederick Grosh, or a majority of them, to propose a
scheme of a lottery for raising a sum of money, not exceeding fifteen
hundred dollars, and to dispose of the tickets thereof; provided
the said Jacob Knode, Garhard Stonebreaker, junior, John Shafer, |
