13. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the president
and each director,
before he enters upon the duties of his office, shall take the following
oath, or affirmation, as the case may be: " I do solemnly swear,
or affirm, that I will impartially, faithfully, diligently and honestly,
execute the duties of _____, conformably to the constitution of articles
of association of the same, and the trusts reposed in me, to
the best of my skill and judgment;" and the clerks, book-keepers
and other officers, shall also take a similar oath, or affirmation,
and shall besides give bond, with security, to the satisfaction of
the president and directors, for the faithful discharge of their duties
in their respective stations. |

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the period of time allowed to the stockholders of the Baltimore
and Reister's-town turnpike company for agreeing to the extension
of the road mentioned in the act passed at November session,
eighteen hundred and five †, entitled, A further supplement to an
act, entitled, An act to incorporate companies to make several
turnpike roads through Baltimore county, and for other purposes,
be and the same is hereby extended for the term of three years after
the expiration of the period aforesaid, which is prescribed in
the said act.

WHEREAS it has been represented to this general
assembly, that
the commissioners appointed to erect a bridge over Chester River,
at Chester-Town, have found it impracticable to dispose of shares
for that purpose, from the magnitude of the undertaking, and the
uncertainty of the costs and profits: And whereas it is now humbly
prayed by a great number of the citizens of Kent and Queen
Anne's counties, that the commissioners may be enable to raise
the sum of ten thousand dollars by a lottery, to be appropriated
by said commissioners to aid in erecting said bridge: And whereas |
