are authorised and empowered to review the old private road leading
from James McComas's saw mill, in Harford county, by John
Devin's, to the post road leading from Baltimore to Havre-de-Grace,
at or near Onion's works on said road, and to lay out, survey,
mark and bound the same, not exceeding thirty feet in width,
and to make a plot of said road when laid out, surveyed, marked
and bound, and return such plot, under their hands and seals, to
the clerk of Harford county, to be by him recorded among the
records of the county. |

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the levy court
of Harford county,
at any meeting after the said plot shall have been recorded, are
hereby authorised and empowered to appoint a supervisor to open,
clear and repair, the said road; and the said levy court are hereby
further authorised and empowered, to levy and assess upon the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money in their opinion
sufficient to survey, open and clear said road; and the said road,
when surveyed, opened and cleared, shall be a public road, and
shall thereafter be kept in repair as other public roads in said county
are kept in repair; Provided, that the said road shall not be laid
through the lands of any person or persons unless the consent of
such person or persons be first had and obtained in writing. |

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners
aforesaid shall
be and they are hereby entitled to receive two dollars each for every
day they shall respectively attend to the discharge of the duties required
by this act, and the levy court are hereby empowered to assess
and levy the same as other public monies are levied and assessed. |

An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Prince-George's
County to assess a sum of money for the purpose therein
mentioned.

WHEREAS Samuel Duvall Beck, of Prince-George's county,
by
his petition to this general assembly, hath set forth, he is very poor,
near seventy-five years of age, and from the numerous infirmities
attendant on old age is rendered totally incapable of procuring a
support by labour, and praying a law may pass authorising the
levy court of Prince-George's county to assess and levy a sum of
money for his support; therefore, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Prince-George's county be and they
are hereby authorised and directed, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Samuel
Duvall Beck, and that the same be collected and paid annually to
the aforesaid Samuel Duvall Beck, or his order, by the collector
of said county, agreeably to the order of the levy court aforesaid. |
