CHAP. 51.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

under all circumstances, and to appoint an overseer to open
and clear said road agreeably to the plot certificate aforesaid,
who shall give bond in like manner as other overseers of public
roads are directed to give bond, and shall have the same allowances;
and the said road, when opened and cleared as aforesaid, shall be
deemed, and the same is hereby declared to be thereafter, a public
road, and shall be kept in repair as other public roads in said
county.

Allowance to
commissioners.
    4.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the commissioners respectively
herein before named shall be entitled to receive two dollars for every
day they shall severally attend to discharge the duties required
by this act, which is hereby directed to be levied, collected and paid, 
as other county charges are levied, collected and paid.

                                        CHAP. LII.
An Act to continue certain Acts of Assembly.  Lib. TH. No. 1, fol.
                                              248.
Acts continued.     BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all
and every act or acts of assembly which are limited by law to continue
to the end of the present session of assembly, or which would
expire during the same, or before the end of the next general assembly,
be and they are hereby severally continued until the thirty-first
day of October next, and until the end of the next session of
assembly thereafter, unless such as are repugnant to, or inconsistent
with, any law which may have passed during the present session
of assembly, and subject to any alterations which have been
made therein.

                                        CHAP. LIII.
An Act for the benefit of the Congregation of Salem's Church, in
            Washington County. 
Lib. No. 1, fol. 248.
Preamble.     WHEREAS certain lands and tenements have been heretofore conveyed
by a certain Peter Rench, late of Frederick, now Washington
county, deceased, in trust for the benefit of the presbyterian
meeting-house, now incorporated and know by the name of Salem's
Church, and by reason of the death of the trustees, and other causes,
doubts have arisen as to the validity of the title to said property;
therefore,

congregation vested
in trustees.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all lands, tenements and hereditaments, goods, chattels, and other
property, which have heretofore been conveyed to any person or
persons, oe which is now held by any person or persons, in trust
for the benefit and use of the congregation of Salem's church,
in Washington county, or by whatsoever name it may be called,
shall be and the same is hereby vested in Martin Kershner, Jacob
Zeller, John Hager and Philip Kershner, present trustees of the
said church, and the successors of the said trustees, appointed according
to the constitution, rules and ordinances, of the said congregation.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees, their successors,
or a majority of them, shall have full power and authority to sell,
lease, or otherwise convey, any parts of the lands, tenements, hereditaments,
goods, chattels or other property, hereby declared to
be vested in the said congregation, or which shall hereafter be vested
