                                        CHAP. LXXVII.
An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Anne-Arundel
    County to assess a sum of money for the purpose therein mentioned.
    Lib. TH. No. 1, fol. 98.
Preamble.     WHEREAS Anne Welch, of Anne-Arundel county, by her petition
to this general assembly has set forth, that she is very poor, nearly
eighty years old, and from the numerous infirmities attendant
on old age is rendered totally incapable of procuring a support by
labour, and prayed that a law may pass authorising the levy court 
of Anne-Arundel county to assess and levy a sum of money for her
support; therefore,
Levy authorised 
for support of
Anne Welch.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Anne-Arundel county be and they
are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy courts annually,
to assess and levy on said county a sum of money, not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of said Anne Welch,
and that the same be collected and paid annually to the aforesaid
Anne Welch, or order, by the collector of said county, agreeably
to the order of the levy court aforesaid.

An Act to incorporate a Company to make a Turnpike Road from the
    line of the District of Columbia where it crosses the Post Road
    leading from George-Town to Frederick-Town, through Montgomery
    and Frederick Counties, to Frederick-Town.  Lib. TH. No.
    1, fol. 100.

                A Supplement, to revive and amend, Nov. 1812, ch. 149.

Company to be incorporated.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
a company be incorporated for making a turnpike road from the
place where the line of the District of Columbia crosses the main
post road leading from George-town to Frederick-town, through
Rockville in Montgomery, thence through Clarksburgh, in said
county, to Market-street, through said street to the main square
at Patrick-street in Frederick-town, in Frederick county.
Books to be opened
for subscription.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That subscriptions books be opened for
a capital stock of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars, in
shares of twenty dollars each; and that subscriptions be taken for
twenty dollars each,
and that subscriptions be taken for twenty-five
thousand dollars at George-town, District of Columbia, under the
direction of (b) Benjamin Stoddert, William Steuart, John Mason,
Thomas Sim Lee and John Laird; for twenty-five thousand dollars
at Washington city, District of Columbia, under the direction of
Daniel Carroll of Duddington, William Brent, John P. Van Ness,
David Peter and Robert Brent; for ten thousand dollars at Rockville,
under the direction of Upton Beall, Thomas P. Wilson, Honore
Martin, Thomas Linsted and Richard Wootton; for forty

    (b)  By Nov. 1812, ch. 149, other commissioners appointed to take subscription
instead of those here named.
