Hope to convey to the trustees of Bethel congregation, and their
successors, in fee, by deed of bargain and sale, to be executed, acknowledged
and recorded, according to law, all and singular the
three acres of land, whereon is erected the house of worship, and
which includes the burying-ground, belonging to said congregation,
and the said trustees, and their successors, are hereby authorised
and empowered to hold the same for the purposes aforesaid for ever
hereafter. |

| Preamble. |
WHEREAS the revered George Dashiell, rector of St.
Peter's
protestant episcopal church in the city of Baltimore, and sundry
other persons, members of said church, have associated for the purpose
of maintaining and educating poor children, and this general
assembly being desirous to assist such institutions, by vesting their
promoters with corporate powers; therefore |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the reverend George Dashiell, Edward Johnson, Thomas Rutter,
Josias Pennington, William Jessop, Hezekiah Waters and Henry
Dorsey Gough, and their successors in office who shall be duly
elected in the manner herein after described, are hereby declared
to be one community, corporation and body politic, for ever hereafter,
by the name and style of The Trustees of St. Peter's School,
and by that name they shall be and are hereby made able and capable
in law to have, purchase, receive, possess, enjoy and retain, to
them and to their successors aforesaid, lands, tenements, rents, annuities,
pensions, and other hereditaments, in fee-simple, or for a
term of years, life, lives or otherwise, and also goods, chattels or
effects, of what nature, quality or kind soever, by the gift, bargain,
sale or devise, of any person or persons, bodies politic or corporate,
capable to make the same, and the same to grant, devise, alien
or dispose of, in such manner as they may judge most conducive to
the benevolent and charitable use of said society; Provided always,
that the said corporation or body politic shall not, at any time, hold |
