An Act authorising the selling and disposing of a small parcel of
Land
belonging to Stepney Parish, in Somerset County.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly,
by the rector
and vestry of Stepney parish, in Somerset county, that there
is a small parcel of land lying in Salisbury, in the county aforesaid,
belonging to the said parish, which is useless and unproductive;
therefore, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the vestry of Stepney parish, or a majority of them, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to sell and dispose of all the
lands belonging to the said parish, lying in the town of Salisbury,
in Somerset county, except the church-yard, and they are hereby
also empowered to convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers,
in fee simple; and the said vestry shall have full power to appropriate
the money arising from the sale of the land aforesaid towards
the repairing of the several churches in the said parish, in such
manner as they shall think most proper and beneficial. |

WHEREAS Thomas C. Earle, William Chambers, Robert
Goldsborough
and William Carmichael, of Queen-Anne's county, by their
petition to this general assembly have set forth, that they have purchased
sundry lots of land contiguous to and adjoining the town of
Centre-Ville, in Queen-Anne's county; that they are desirous of
having the said lots or parcel of land annexed to, and incorporated
with, the said town, and pray that a law may pass for that purpose;
and it appearing to this general assembly that to extend the limits
of the said town will promote the interest thereof, as well as benefit
the petitioners, therefore, |

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the commissioners of the town of Centre-Ville, in Queen-Anne's
county, or the major part of them, do, and they are hereby directed
and required, by and with the consent of the owners thereof, at
any time before the first day of June next, to cause the aforesaid
lots or parcel of land to be actually laid out and plotted, with the
streets, lanes and alleys thereof, (unless the same be already done
so as to be satisfactory to the said commissioners, or a majority of
them,) at the proper costs and expenses of the said Thomas C.
