CHAP. XXXVII.
A Supplement to an act, * entitled, An act authorising the Trustees
of
Charlotte-Hall School to lay off a Town in Saint-Mary's
County by
the name of Charlotte's-Ville, and to dispose
of the Lots therein by

Preamble. |
WHEREAS by the act to which this is a supplement,
there is no
power given to the trustees to appropriate any part of the money
arising from the sale of tickets in the scheme or schemes of a lottery
to be by them proposed to the purpose of cash prizes, or in any
other manner to create the same, for the want of which, it is represented
to this general assembly, by the said trustees, they have
been prevented from carrying such scheme or schemes into effect;
therefore, |

make application
of money.

2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the said trustees, or any five of them,
to apply such part of the money arising from the sale of the tickets
in the scheme or schemes of a lottery to be by them proposed to the
purpose of cash prizes, or to create the same in any other manner
that they may think best to further or promote such lottery; Provided,
that any five or more of the said trustees shall, before the sale
or disposal of any ticket or tickets in any such scheme or schemes
of a lottery, give their bond in the manner prescribed in the act
to which this is a supplement, and in the same penalty, for the payment
of the said cash prizes to the fortunate adventurers within
twelve months from the drawing the said lottery, which bond shall
be lodged in the clerk's office of Saint-Mary's county, and recorded
in the same manner, and for such like purposes, as are prescribed
with respect to the bond by them to be given in the said original
act. |

An Act to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Worcester County
to levy annually a sum of money for the support
of Aaron Faskey,
Betsy Faskey, Thomas Faskey, junior, and Abigail Faskey,
Children

Preamble. |
WHEREAS Thomas Faskey, by his petition to this general
assembly
hath set forth, that he hath four children, to wit: Aaron, of the
age of twenty-one years, Betsy, of the age of seventeen years, Thomas,
of the age of fifteen years, and Abigail, of the age of eleven
years, all idiots and blind, and are a constant expense to him from
their infancy, that he is a very poor man, and prays that an act may
pass authorising the levy court of Worcester county to levy a sum
of money for the support and maintenance of the said Aaron, Betsy,
Thomas and Abigail, out of the poor-house; and the facts stated
in the said petition appearing to be true; therefore, |
Levy authorised. |
2. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the justices of Worcester levy court shall be and they are hereby
directed and empowered, at their levy court annually, so long as |
