    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners, or a majority
of them, shall and they are hereby directed and required to
make, or cause to be made, a plot of the said road, when surveyed
as aforesaid, and return the same, with a certificate of the courses, 
to the clerk of Baltimore county, to be recorded among the land records
of the said county, and when the same shall have been returned
as aforesaid, the said road shall for ever thereafter be deemed a
public road or highway.

                                        CHAP. XVI.
A Supplement to an act, (a) entitled, An act for the relief of the
        Poor in Saint-Mary's County.

Passed Dec. 31.
    WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the trustees 
of the poor of Saint-Mary's county, that great disadvantages
and expense have arisen from the want of wood land contiguous to
the poor's house of said county; therefore,
Preamble.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of said county be and they are hereby
empowered to levy on the assessable property of said county,
at the time of laying their next county levy, a sum of money not
exceeding seventeen hundred dollars, for the purpose of purchasing
land for the use of poor's house aforesaid, which said assessment,
so as aforesaid made and levied, shall be collected by the
sheriff of said county in the same manner as the public and county
taxes are collected; and the said sum, when so as aforesaid collected,
shall be paid by such sheriff to the trustees for the time being,
or their order.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees, or the major
part of them, shall and they are hereby authorised, directed and 
required, to buy and purchase in fee, a quantity of land in said
county to the value of the sum so levied as aforesaid, for the purposes
herein before mentioned, which land, when so purchased,
shall be held and possessed by the said trustees and their successors
in the same manner as is prescribed by the act to which this
is a supplement, so far as the same relates to purchasing and holding
land for the use of the said poor.

An Act for the support of Anne Mills, of Montgomery County.  Lib.

    WHEREAS Anne Mills, by her petition to this general assembly,
hath set forth, that she has been for many years infirm and unable
to procure a livelihood by her labour, and prays a law may pass
for her support and maintenance out of the poor's-house; and the
prayer of the petitioner appearing reasonable, therefore,
Preamble.
    2.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the trustees of the poor of Montgomery
county, if they shall be of opinion that the peculiar circumstances
of the said Anne Mills are such as to render a situation
in the poor-house particularly unsuitable for her, to support
her as an out-pensioner, in addition to the number now allowed by
the act, (b) entitled, An act to enlarge the powers of the trustees
