                APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

RESOLVED, That Benjamin Harwood, trustee and treasurer of
the state of Maryland, be and he is hereby authorised again to
call upon the said William Marbury to comply with the said resolution,
and upon his omitting to do so, then he is hereby directed
to take such steps, forthwith, as the attorney general of the state
of Maryland may advise, to compel said William Marbury to transfer
to him, the said treasurer and trustee, all the stock standing in
his name, the property of the state of Maryland.

                                        No. 3.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby authorised and directed to pay to Hezekiah Carr, late a
drummer in the Maryland line, or to his order, a sum of money,
in quarterly payments, equal to the half pay of a drummer during
his life.

                                        No. 4.
    RESOLVED, That a sum not exceeding one hundred and eighty
thousand dollars be appropriated for the purchase of arms, ordinance
and military stores, under the direction of the governor and
council, and to be paid to the order of the governor, out of any
unappropriated money in the treasury of the western shore.

                                        No. 5.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby authorised to negotiate a loan, on such terms and at such
periods as the governor and council shall approve, not exceeding
the sum of four hundred and fifty thousand dollars; and the faith
of the state is hereby pledged for the re-payment of the principal
and interest thereof; provided always, that in no case shall a
larger rate of interest be contracted to be paid than six per centum
per annum.

                                        No. 6.
    The secretary of war of the United States having required of
the governor of this state, that a detachment of the drafted militia
under the law of congress should be ordered out for the defence
of the cities of Baltimore and Annapolis, whereby considerable
expenses were created for the pay, maintenance and transportation
of the said detachments to their respective places of rendezvous,
which expenses ought to be promptly paid; therefore,

    RESOLVED, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby
authorised to draw on the treasurer of the western shore for
the payment of all such accounts as they may deem just and proper,
and that they be requested to transmit a statement of such
accounts to the department of war of the United States.

                                        No. 7.
    RESOLVED, That the governor be, and he is hereby authorised
and requested to take such steps as to him may seem meet, to ascertain
the true boundaries of the first and third divisions of the
Maryland militia, and when so ascertained, and fixed by his decision,
to be recorded in the adjutant general's office of this state, as
the proper and true boundary; and all fines and drafts which have
heretofore been imposed or made, not conformable to the boundaries
to be thus established, the governor be and he is hereby authorised
to remit and release.
