                APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

Maryland line during the revolutionary war, or to his order, a sum
of money annually, in quarterly payments, equal to the half pay of
a sergeant, as a further remuneration for those services rendered
his country during the American war.

In favour of
Hugh Lynch.
                                        No. 26.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he is
hereby directed to pay unto Hugh Lynch, late a private in the
Maryland line during the revolutionary war, or to his order, a sum
of money annually, in quarterly payments, equal to the half pay of
a private, as a further remuneration for those services rendered
his country during the American war.

Charles Williams
and Jesse Bullock.
                                        No. 27.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby directed and required to pay to Charles Williams, late a
private in the revolutionary war, in the Maryland, line, or to his
order, annually in quarterly payments, a sum of money equal to
the half pay of a private; and likewise, is hereby directed and required
to pay to Jesse Bullock, late a private in the revolutionary
war, in the Maryland line, or to his order, annually, in quarterly
payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a private, as
a further remuneration to them for those services by which their
country has been so essentially benefitted.

Thompson.
                                        No. 28.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the eastern shore be, and he is
hereby required to pay to John Thompson, of Kent county, late a
soldier in the revolutionary war, or to his order, a sum of money
equal to the half pay of a private annually, in quarterly payments,
during his life.

Relative to the
address of Neale
H. Shaw.
                                        No. 30.
    RESOLVED, That the governor and council be, and they are hereby
requested, to inquire into the probably expense that would be
requisite to carry into effect the method proposed by Neale H. Shaw
in his address to the legislature for ascertaining the regular variation
of the magnetic needle, including the erection of the necessary
structures, the purchase of instruments, and the annual salary of a
person competent to make the observations; and also to select the
place which in their opinion would be the most proper for the object
contemplated, and report thereon to the next general assembly.

In favour of John
Sullivan.
                                        No. 31.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to John
Sullivan the sum of fifty dollars as messenger to the court of chancery.

Crouch.
                                        No. 32.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby authorised and directed, to pay to Robert Crouch or to
order, annually, in quarterly payments, a sum of money equal to
the half pay of a private, as a further remuneration for his services
during the revolutionary war.

In favour of Thomas
Carney.
                                        No. 33.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby authorised and directed, to pay to Thomas Carney, or
his order annually, in quarterly payments, a sum of money equal
to the half pay of a private, as a further remuneration for his services
during the revolutionary war.
