            APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

when received in virtue of this resolution, shall have the same effect
and validity, to all intents and purposes; as if the same had
been returned within the time prescribed by law; provided, that
nothing herein contained shall operate as to defeat or affect any
title to said land that may already by acquired by any person or persons,
or to defeat any warrant already issued, by which the said
land might have been affected.

                                        No. 7.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is
hereby authorised and required to receive from the late treasurer
of the eastern shore, all monies which were deposited in the eastern
shore treasury in discharge of debts due to foreigners, under the
act of October session, 1780, and pass a receipt to the said late
treasurer for the same.

                                        No. 8.
    RESOLVED, That the chancellor be authorised and requested to
inquire into all the circumstances respecting a certificate of survey
of a tract of land called Friendship, owned by Thomas Randall, a
patent issued to Joseph Shaul for a tract of land called Amos's Venture,
and also a certificate of survey called Small Hope, granted
to a certain George Storm, and if he should be of opinion that the
said Thomas Randall is not entitled to a grant on the said certificate
called Friendship, that then and in that case the said chancellor
be authorised and requested to decide thereon, and on the merits
of the respective claims of the parties, in the same manner as if
the said act of assembly in favour of said Thomas Randall, enacted
at November session, seventeen hundred and ninety-eight, had
never passed, any thing in the same to the contrary notwithstanding.

                                        No. 9.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Charles
Emory, or order, seven pounds, it being a balance due to the said
Charles Emory, an old bargeman, for his services on board of the
barges during the late war, as appears by a voucher from the auditor's
office, under the hand of the auditor.

                                        No. 10.
    WHEREAS by a resolution of the general assembly of Maryland,
passed at November session, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-five,
William Pinkney, William Cooke and Philip Barton Key,
esquires, were appointed on behalf of this state to settle and adjust
the western and southern boundaries between this state and the commonwealth
of Virginia:  And whereas at November session, one
thousand seven hundred and ninety-six, William Cooke signified
to the general assembly that he could not attend the execution of
the above powers, and that William Pinkney was on business out
of this state, and Charles Carroll, of Carrollton, and Jeremiah
Townley Chase, esquires, were appointed with Philip Barton Key,
to carry the aforesaid resolution into effect:  And whereas the said
resolution hath not yet been carried into effect, and Philip Barton
Key hath removed out of this state, and Charles Carroll, of Carrollton,
and Jeremiah Townley Chase, have signified to this general
assembly that they cannot attend to the execution of the above
powers; therefore, RESOLVED, That the governor and council be
