                APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

rendered important services in distinguished stations, whilst high
honours and great rewards attend public services in other forms of
government; RESOLVED unanimously, That there be granted to the
said Francis Ware half pay as lieutenant-colonel, (rated according
to the establishment when he retired from service,) from the date
of this resolution, and during the remainder of his life; and that
the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby authorised
and directed to pay the same to the said Francis Ware in quarterly
payments.

    RESOLVED, That the governor and council cause the laws compiled
by William Kilty to be distributed and forwarded as follows:
To the chancery court one copy, to the chancellor one copy, to the
court of appeals one copy, to each judge thereof one copy, to the
general courts each one copy, to each judge thereof one copy, to
the judge of the criminal court of Baltimore one copy, to the governor
and council, and each member thereof, one copy, to the senate
two copies, to the house of delegates two copies, to each county
court one copy, to each judge thereof one copy, to each orphans
court one copy, to the land-office western shore one copy, to the
land-office eastern shore one copy, to the treasury western
shore one copy, to the treasury of the eastern shore one copy, to
the executive of each state one copy, to the house of representatives
of the United States one copy, to the senate of the United 
States one copy, to the secretary of state one copy, to the editor
one copy, to each member of the general assembly one copy, to
Saint-John's college one copy, to Washington college one copy, to
each of the incorporated schools one copy, to the mayor's court
in the city of Annapolis one copy, to the mayor's court in George-town
one copy, to the mayor and city council of Baltimore one copy,
to the library company of Baltimore one copy, to the attorney-general
one copy, to the clerk of the senate one copy, to assistant
clerk of senate one copy, to the clerk of the house of delegates
one copy, to assistant clerk of house of delegates one copy.

Compilation of
laws, how to be
distributed.
                                        No. 9.
    RESOLVED, That the chancellor, upon bill or petition being filed
by Robert Courtenay, in relation to his purchase of the state of
Maryland of a tract of land called Part of Carroll's Scrutiny, lying
in Baltimore county, be authorised to proceed upon said bill or
petition, and to ascertain the deduction, if any, that ought to have
been made from the purchase money of said land, in the same manner
as if said Courtenay had, at any time heretofore, filed said bill
against the state of Maryland; and that on said deduction, if any,
being decreed, and the decree being presented to the treasurer of
the western shore, he pay the amount thereof to the said Robert
Courtenay out of any unappropriated money which may be in the
treasury.

                                        No. 10.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is
hereby authorised and required to pay to the adjutant-general of
this state for the time being, the sum of five hundred dollars, and
no more, in quarterly payments, as his salary for the year eighteen
hundred and one, provided the adjutant-general reside or keep an
office at the seat of government.
