APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

of the monthly pay which he the said Harman received in the continental

No. 2.
WHEREAS it appears to the general assembly that
John Morris,
of St. Mary's county, late a soldier in the third Maryland regiment
in the service of the United States, is disabled from wounds
received at the battle of the Cowpens, and is thereby incapable of
getting a livelihood; therefore, RESOLVED, That his excellency the
governor of Maryland, for the time being, be and he is hereby authorised
and empowered, to grant unto the said John Morris, in
future, half of the monthly pay which he the said Morris received
in the continental service, by orders drawn quarterly on the treasurer
of the western shore for the same, and that the same be
charged to the United States. |

in congress. |
No. 3.
RESOLVED, That the governor and council be requested
to forward
without delay, the resolution in favour of Lazarus Harman,
and all similar resolutions, with the vouchers, upon which they are
respectively founded, to the representatives of this state in the
congress of the United States, in order that they may use their
endeavours to obtain an act of congress making provision for the
payment of the pensions by the United States. |

Patent for land to
be granted to Edward
Abell. |
NOVEMBER SESSION, 1792.
No. 1.
RESOLVED, That the register of the land office for
the western
shore, on payment of the usual fees, be and he is hereby authorised
and directed to grant to Edward Abell, of Saint-Mary's county,
a patent for the two lots of land situate and lying in Mill
Manor, in Saint-Mary's county, which were purchased of the commissioners
of confiscated property by Michael Beverly, of the said
county, provided the said Abell will pay to the treasurer of the
western shore the sum of eleven pounds two shillings and four-pence,
in specie or specie certificates. |

Geo. Tull to be
discontinued. |
No. 2.
RESOLVED, That the attorney-general be and he is
hereby directed
to discontinue the action of trespass and ejectment, now
depending in the general court of the eastern shore, and which was
instituted on behalf of the state against George Tull, for the recovery
of a tract of land called Tower Hill, as confiscated property
belonging to Adam Carlisle, a British subject, provided, that the
state pay no costs incurred by the said George Tull; and provided
also, that John Anderson, who purchased the said land of the late
intendant of the revenue, be at liberty to prosecute the said suit at
his own expense, if he should think proper, and shall make his
election at the next term, and, in case he shall not elect to prosecute
the suit aforesaid, that the treasurer of the western shore shall
deliver to the said John Anderson his bond passed for the said tract
of land, called Tower Hill, to the state of Maryland. |
