Whereas William Read, by his humble petition to
this general
assembly, has set forth, that by virtue of a special warrant, and
also of a special order from Robert Eden, Esquire, then governor
of Maryland, directed to the surveyor of Queen-Anne's county, he
had surveyed four hundred and twenty-nine acres of land called
" Wright's Square Corrected," lying in the reserve of Queen-Anne's
county manor, and had returned a certificate for the same,
and had also paid the caution money thereon; which said warrant
and order were issued, and the said certificate was returned before
the late act of assembly respecting reserved lands; and praying
that the register of the land office might be directed to issue a patent
on the said certificate; and the facts set forth in the said petition
appearing to this house to be true, therefore, RESOLVED,
That the register of the land office do and he is hereby directed,
to make out a patent to the said William Read on the certificate
aforesaid, agreeable to the prayer of the said petition. |

NOVEMBER SESSION, 1783.
No. 1.
WHEREAS it appears to this general assembly, that
Martin
Adams, late of Frederick county, in obtaining a lease for lives of
certain lands in Monocacy Manor from the proprietary agent, by
mistake, had the name of Henry inserted instead of Andrew: And
whereas the supposed life estate in the lands was, by will, afterwards
bequeathed to the said Andrew: And whereas the lands have
since been sold by the state, and the person in whom the right now
is, has declared his willingness to relinquish the purchase in favour
of the petitioner; RESOLVED, That the commissioners for confiscated
property after due notice, do again set up to public sale the
aforesaid lot of ground, distinguished on the present plot by No.
29, for the use of Andrew Adams, his life therein, and sell the reversion
to the highest bidder, on the same terms that the former
sale was made, and that the treasurer deliver up any monies, certificates
or securities, which may have been paid in virtue of the
former sale. |

NOVEMBER SESSION, 1784.
No. 1.
WHEREAS this house, on the twenty-third day of November,
in
the year 1781, resolved unanimously that the governor be requested
to write to Mr. Peale of Philadelphia, to procure, as soon as
might be, the portrait of his Excellency General Washington at
full length, to be placed in the house of delegates, in grateful remembrance
of that most illustrious character: And whereas this
house are informed that the said portrait, with the frame, is finished,
and ready to be delivered; therefore, |

RESOLVED, That the governor be empowered to draw
on the
intendant of the revenue for such sum of money as may be necessary |
