            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

by hanging, or undergo a confinement in the penitentiary
not less than 1 nor more than 21 years,
    If any person shall carnally know and abuse any woman
child under the age of ten years, the same shall be
deemed felony, and the offender on conviction shall, at
the discretion of the court, suffer death by hanging, or
be confined in the penitentiary not less than 1 nor more
than 21 years,
    Every person convicted of an assault, with intent to
commit a rape, to be confined in the penitentiary not
less than 2 nor more than 10 years,

    Of Anne-Arundel county—money to be levied for his
support,

    Disposition of the real estate of persons convicted of
bigamy,
    No conviction or attainder, or casualy, to work forfeiture
of estate; the estate of such persons as shall destroy
their own lives, to descend or best as in case of
natural death,
    Disposition of the real estate, &c. of persons convicted
and sentenced to the penitentiary, or to be executed,

    An act for the valuation of real and personal property
in the several counties,
    Authority given to sell the real estates of minors in
the cases therein mentioned,
—On the death of such infants the proceeds of the
sale to be considered as real estate, and descend as
such,
    On petition by any guardian, &c. for the sale of the
real estate of any infant, a commission to issue for ascertaining
the value, &c.
    The provisions of the act of 1785, ch. 72, &c. as to
the sales of real estates, extended to defendants of full
age,
    The provisions of the act of 1816, ch. 154, extended
to equitable titles to real estates,
    A sale of the real estate may be decreed in order to
save the personal, with the consent of the parties of
full age, and the actual guardian of minors,
    Power given to confirm sales by executors under a
supposed authority from a will,
    Provisions as to lands in this state descending to minors
residing out of this state,
 

   Punishment of, or consulting and conspiring,

    How to be given by inspectors of tobacco,

    Fees allowed to justices of the peace for taking recognizance
for defendant's appearance,
    Recognizances directed to be returned to the county
courts then established,
    Recognizance or bond ofa coroner may be taken
by any judge of a district or justice of the peace,
    Justices of the peace directed to take the recognizance
with security, of persons brought before them,
for retailing liquors without licence, &c. for their appearance
at the next county court, &c.
