COUNTY COURTS
 

            INDEX TO THE LAWS.
 

—In Montgomery county on the first Monday in
March and second Monday in November,
—In Caroline county on the first Monday in March
and second Monday of October,
—In Dorchester county on the third Monday in
March and fourth Monday of October,
—In Somerset county on the fourth Monday in
May and November,
—In Worcester county on the second Monday in
May and November,
—In Frederick county on the first Monday in March
and the fourth Monday in October,
—In Washington county on the fourth Monday in
March and the third Monday in November,
—In Allegany county on the third Monday in April
and second Monday in October,
—In Baltimore county on the fourth Monday in
March and the third Monday of September,
—In Harford county on the second Monday in
March and the fourth Monday in August,
    Directions for the issuing of process; to be vested and
returnable as therein prescribed; and to the clerks to
discharge their duties as before,
    All causes, &c. civil or criminal, returnable to or
depending in the late county courts, and all writs, &c.
from the late general court, directed to be continued
and returned to the county courts for trial,
    Process from the county courts, how to be tested and
returnable,
    Commitments and recognizances for felonies, &c. to
be returned to the county courts,
    Sheriffs, clerks, and all other civil officers, to execute
the same duties, under the same penalties as before,
    Nothing herein to alter the powers of the court of
oyer and terminer of Baltimore county, or to give criminal
jurisdiction to the county court,
    Provision for judgments by default against sheriffs or
coroners, which might have been struck out,
    Where no return of process had been made, or after
return, no appearance, &c. proceedings directed to be
had at the next term,
    Scire facias, where necessary on any judgment in
the late general court or court of appeals, to be
made returnable to the county courts, and renewed
therefrom,
    The original papers, &c. in the actions depending in
the late general court, to be transmitted by the late
clerks to the county courts, for doing the same thing,
the latter to prevail,
    All acts done by any county court as it existed before
the 30th of November then last, to have the same effect
as if done before the court was changed, or before that
day,

    Recognizances of bail to be returned, &c. as if to the
former court,
    Bail bonds taken, or to be taken, to be valid to compel
the appearance of the defendant,
    All causes and proceedings, civil or criminal, depending
on the 30th of November in the county or general
court, to be revived and continued to the next county
courts, &c.
—Those from the general court to continue as they
might have continued therein,
