            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

chains or ropes across any street, &c. within the city
of Baltimore, or the precincts, not obstructing the foot
ways,
—Persons intentionally pulling them down liable to
fine and imprisonment,
    Public ground then occupied by the Methodist Meeting
House in Annapolis, relinquished to the trustees,
    The leave of the legislature granted for the conveyance
of lands in Montgomery county to persons of the
Quaker Society, for the establishment of a school,
    The vestry of the German Lutheran Congregation
in Frederick town, Frederick county, authorised to sue
for and recover the property therein mentioned, devised
or bequeathed to them,
    The title to certain lots confirmed to the trustees of
that part of the Methodist Episcopal Church called
Sardis Chapel, in Talbot county,
    The Roman Catholic Free School in the city of Baltimore
incorporated,
    Certain land before conveyed, confirmed to the United
Brethren in Frederick county, and trustees authorised
to convey the same, and sell other lots,
    The assent of the legislature given to the devise of
lands by J. Postley, late of Worcester county, to the
trustees of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian
Church,
—Same, to the devise of lands by J. Cunningham,
late of Harford county, to F. Asbury, &c. in trust for
the Methodist Episcopal Church,
    The trustees of St. Lucas Reformed Church in Union-town,
in Frederick county, incorporated,
    A supplement to the act of 1798, ch. 30, to incorporate
the Baptist Church in the city of Baltimore,
    The Rockville Roman Catholic Congregation, authorised
to elect trustees, which had been omitted,
—The charter not forfeited by such omission,

    In Queen-Anne's county, incorporated,
—Commissioners appointed, &c.

    All parts of acts requiring a license for retailing
strong beer and cider, repealed,

    No one to be commissioned as a Notary who is not a
citizen,
    Foreigners entitled to take, by deed or will, lots in
Havre-de-Grace, as if they were citizens, but not entitled
to further privileges as such,
    Provision for the conveyance of land purchased by
citizens, the title to which is in British subjects,

    Free white male citizens only entitled to vote at
elections for delegates, &c.

    All able bodied white male citizens of the proper age,
and not therein exempted, subject to do militia duty,
    No person shall be a commissioned officer in the militia
unless a citizen of the United States, and of this
state,
    Rights acquired by an alien white female intermarrying
with a citizen, and residing in the United States,

    All free white persons who emigrated into or settled
within this state, before the adoption of the constitution
of the United States, and had continued inhabitants,
deemed and declared to be entitled to all the immunities
of natural born citizens, so as to hold real estate, and
transfer the same,
—All property transferred by them, or their descendants,
to citizens of this or any other state, to be held,
&c. as if they had been citizens,
