            INDEX TO THE LAWS.

    Additional buildings authorised adjacent to the tobacco
warehouse of J. Calhoun, and Dugan and
O'Donnell,
    The inspection of lumber regulated for the city and
county, &c.
    The Baltimore Humane Impartial Society incorporated,
—Female President and Managers appointed,
—Male Trustees appointed,
    A lottery or lotteries authorised for finishing the Roman
Catholic Cathedral,
—Exempted from the delay in drawing under the
act of 1817, ch. 154,
    Saint Paul's street in the city and precincts to be
extended,
    A sale and conveyance authorised of certain property
held in trust for the German Lutheran Congregation,
    Directions as to the militia,
    McElderry-street in the eastern precincts, to be extended,
&c.
    Acts for extending Green-street,
 

    An alley to be opened from Hollyday to North-street,
    A company incorporated to make a turnpike road
from the District of Columbia to the city of Baltimore,
    The United Hose and Suction Engine Company incorporated,
    A lottery authorised for building a Masonic Hall,
and the act of 1805, ch. 113, and its supplements repealed,
    Forrest and Goodman-streets to be extended, &c.
    Low-street in the eastern precincts to be opened, &c.
    Additional provisions respecting the building of the
new gaol,
    The improvement of the new theatre authorised,
    Property in the city vested in trustees for the use of
the society of people called Quakers,
    The City Bank of Baltimore incorporated, &c.
 

    Directions concerning the valuation of property, &c.
in the city of Baltimore,
    Provision for the appointment of bailiffs for the preservation
of the peace, &c.
    Directions concerning the militia in the city,
 
 

    Lunatics, &c. to be sent to the hospital near Baltimore,
    The Bible Society of Baltimore incorporated, &c.
    The Patapsco Insurance Company incorporated,
    The Universal Insurance Company incorporated,
    Union or Green-street, and Bottle Alley, in the western
precincts, to be opened and extended,
    Money to be levied for repairing the public roads and
streets in the precincts of the city,

    Queen-street to be opened and extended,

    The mayor and city council prohibited from collecting
or imposing any tax, duty, toll or wharfage, upon
any goods, &c. for the passing the same over any of
the public wharves,
—Not to deprive them of the right of regulating by
ordinance the time during which such goods, &c. shall
remain on the wharves, or the vessels remain at said
wharves,
