                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

                                      CHAP. CXXXVII.
An Act for the relief of Lydia Williams, of Charles County.  Lib.
                                      TH. No. 6, fol. 350.

Levy authorised
for her benefit.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the levy court of Charles county be and they are hereby authorised
and required, at their next levy court, and so long thereafter as
they shall see fit, to levy annually, upon the assessable property of
Charles county, any sum not exceeding thirty dollars, for the use
and benefit of Lydia Williams od said county, which sum shall be
collected by the sheriff or collector of said county, and paid to the
said Lydia Williams, or her order.

                                      CHAP. CXXXVIII.
An Act relating to the Records of the Office of the Register of Wills of
                Queen-Anne's County.

Preamble.     WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assembly, by
the memorial of the justices of the orphans court of Queen-Anne's
county, that many of the original papers in said office have not
been recorded, and are now in a ruinous and imperfect state, and
it is necessary and proper that such original papers should be recorded,
therefore,

authorised to have
record of such original
papers and
heretofore recorded,
&c.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
it shall and may be lawful for the justices of the orphans court of
Queen-Anne's county, and they are hereby authorised and required,
to cause to be recorded all such original papers in said office
not heretofore recorded, as they may think necessary and proper,
upon the most economical terms, (not exceeding the sum now allowed
by law for like services,) in good leather bound books, to
which a fair and correct alphabet shall be prefixed, of all such records
as may be contained in such book.
Persons employed
to make out an
account, &c.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That any person or persons who may
be employed by the said court to record any of the aforesaid papers,
shall on or before the first day of May eighteen hundred and nineteen,
and before the first day of May annually thereafter, until the
recording of said papers shall be completed, make out a fair and
correct account of the recording by him or them performed in pursuance
of this act, and the cost of the record books for the same,
and the account, when examined and passed by the justices of the
said orphans court, or a majority of them, shall be by them certified
and transmitted to the justices of levy court of said county, who
shall assess and levy the same as other county charges, and which
shall be collected and paid to the person or persons employed as
aforesaid.
Duration.     3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That this act shall continue in force
until the first day of January eighteen hundred and twenty-two,
and no longer.
