CHARLES RIDGELY, OF HAMPTON, ESQ. GOVERNOR.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees, or any two or
them, or any two of their successors to be appointed as aforesaid,
shall have power and authority to lay off, sell and dispose of, any
other lot or lots, when in their judgment it may be expedient so to
do, and the proceeds of the same to hold in trust for the use and
benefit of said society.

                                CHAP. CLXXXVIII.
An Act to authorise the Justices of the Levy Court of Anne-Arundel
    County to appoint some person to take charge of the Tobacco now
    in the old Warehouse at Elk Ridge Landing.  Lib. TH. No. 6,
    fol. 122.

Passed Feb. 14, 1818.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Anne-Arundel county be and they
are hereby authorised and required, to appoint some person to receive
and take charge of the books, papers and tobacco, now in
said warehouse, together with the inspection tools, and all other
things belonging thereto, and to allow the person so appointed,
such sum out of the outage or storage on said tobacco as to them
may appear right and proper.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the justices
of the levy court aforesaid, to cause the tobacco now in said warehouse
to be advertised in the Federal Gazette and American newspapers,
published in the city of Baltimore, for sixty days, setting
forth the marks, number, weight, and date of inspection of each
hogshead, requesting the owner or owners of said tobacco to take
the same away, and if the said tobacco, or any part thereof, shall
not be demanded or taken away before the expiration of the sixty
days, it shall and may be lawful for the justices of the levy court
aforesaid, to sell the same at public auction, in the city of Baltimore,
they giving at least thirty days notice thereof in the newspapers
aforesaid, the proceeds of such sale or sales to be paid to
the person or persons entitled thereto, after deducting the charges
due thereon, if demanded within twelve months after such sale,
otherwise to be applied to the use of the said county.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That before the person appointed under
the provisions of this act shall proceed to act, he shall give
bond, with such securities, and in such sum, as may be approved
by the justices of the said levy court, conditioned for the safe
keeping and delivery of the books, papers, tobacco, and other
things committed to his care.

                                  CHAP. CLXXXIX.
An Act to alter such parts of the Constitution and Form of Government
    as relate to Appointments in Offices of Profit and Trust by the
    Governor and Council.  Lib. TH. No. 6, fol. 123.

Passed Feb. 14, 1818.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly, That 
in all appointments to be hereafter made by the executive, it shall
be the duty of the governor, and he is hereby required, to nominate,
and by and with the advice and consent of the council, appoint,
all such officers as are directed to be appointed by the executive,
either by the constitution or laws of this state.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That if this act be confirmed by the general
assembly after the next election of delegates, in the first session
