pass over the same; and that when said bridge shall be erected, it
shall and may be lawful for the said Margaret Hammond, Harriet
Hammond, and Samuel J. Donaldson, their heirs and assigns, for
ever thereafter, to ask, demand and receive, as toll for passing over
said bridge, according to the following rates, to wit:  For each foot
passenger four cents; a man and a horse twelve and a half cents;
four wheeled carriages, with two horses, thirty-seven and a half
cents; with four horses, fifty cents; a horse without a rider four
cents; horned cattle four cents each; and sheep and hogs each two
cents; Provided always, and it is the true intent and meaning of
this act, that the said Margaret Hammond, Harriet Hammond, and
Samuel J. Donaldson, their heirs or assigns, shall not be permitted,
in virtue of the power hereby vested in them, to obstruct, or in
any manner impede, the passing and repassing of vessels of any
size or description in said river, at the place aforesaid, but the said
Margaret Hammond, Harriet Hammond, and Samuel J. Donaldson,
their heirs or assigns, shall be obliged to have a free passage
kept open for the same either by draw-bridge or otherwise.

Proviso.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Margaret Hammond,
Harriet Hammond and Samuel J. Donaldson, their heirs or assigns,
shall have full power and authority to sell the land on both sides of
the river Patapsco, at the said place called Hammond's Ferry, with
the privilege hereby granted, to any person or persons, or body
corporate, now in existence, or hereafter to be created, who on
making a purchase of said lands and privilege shall be entitled to
all the benefit thereof.

privilege.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That should the said bridge be suffered
to become out of repair so as to render said bridge dangerous or
impossible to be passed and repassed, except when the same may be
undergoing repair, the owner or owners thereof shall be liable to
be indicted therefor, either in Baltimore or Anne-Arundel county
courts, and upon conviction thereof shall be liable to a fine, in the
discretion of the court in which the said conviction may be had,
in a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars.

A Further Additional Supplement to the act*, entitled, An act to incorporate
    a Company for the purpose of building a Bridge over the
    River Susquehanna near Rock Run.

    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
from and after the passage of this act, the annual election of the
president and directors of the Susquehanna Bridge and Bank Company,
shall be held at their banking house on the second Monday
of December in each and every year, the election to commence at
eleven o'clock A. M. and close at three o'clock P. M. public notice
having been given as is required by the original act to which this
is a further additional supplement, and the several supplements
thereto.
Annual election.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That in case the said election should not
take place on the day or days hereby appointed, then the old president
and directors shall hold their seats until a new election shall
be had, provided said new election shall be held within three months
from the said second Monday in December, after regular notice as
aforesaid.
