                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

                                            CHAP. CV.
An Act authorising the Levy Court of Calvert County to levy a sum
    of money on the assessable property of said County for the purposes
    therein mentioned.  Lib. TH. No. 5, fol. 636.

                                                        See 1816, ch. 158.

Levy authorised.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Calvert county, for the time being,
be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to levy on the
assessable property of said county a sum of money not exceeding
six thousand dollars, in such proportions as they may think best,
for the repairing or rebuilding the court-house and gaol of said
county, on the lot whereon the old walls now stand.
Until building is
completed court
to rent a suitable
one.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That until the completion of the building
aforesaid for the accommodation of the county court, the levy
court are authorised and empowered to rent a suitable building, in
any part of the county, for the accommodation of the county court
of said county.
May adjourn to
meet at place appointed.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the judges of the county court are
authorised, on the first day of the term next ensuing, to adjourn
the court to meet at the place so procured by the levy court, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.

                                           CHAP. CVI.
An Act for the relief of Rezin Wilcoxen, of Montgomery County. Lib.
                                       TH. No. 5, fol. 636.
Levy authorised
for his support.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the levy court of Montgomery county are hereby authorised to levy
on the assessable property of said county, annually, as long as
they may deem proper, a sum of money not exceeding thirty dollars,
for the support and maintenance of Rezin Wilcoxen, and the
same to be collected by the collector of said county, and by him
paid to Cassandra Wilcoxen for the use and benefit of her child, Rezin
Wilcoxen.

An Act to empower the County Court of Queen-Anne's  County to divide

A Supplement to an act* for the promotion of Literature in this State.
                                 Lib. TH. No. 5, fol. 637.
Preamble.      WHEREAS, the trustees of the Charlotte Hall School, for the counties
of St. Mary's, Charles, Prince-George's and Calvert, have
found the donation granted by the act to which this is a supplement,
to the president and trustees of the said school, totally insufficient
for the liberal education of youth, for which purpose the
said appropriation was made; therefore,
Donation to Charlotte
Hall School.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the treasurer of the western shore shall be, for ever hereafter, authorised
and required, to pay annually, in addition to the donation
given to the Charlotte Hall School, the sum of twelve hundred dollars,
which said sum shall be paid by the treasurer of the western
