of ascertaining and determining how much or what part of
said records are in such a situation as to require to be transcribed;
and that the said surveyor is hereby authorised and required to
transcribe, in a legible hand, such parts of the records aforesaid
as shall be pointed out and recommended by the commissioners
aforesaid, and the said surveyor shall be allowed therefor such
sum as the said commissioners shall deem right and proper, to be
levied on the assessable property of said county, and collected and
paid by the collector thereof to the said surveyor, or his order. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners,
before
they act as such, shall take an oath before some justice of the peace
for the county aforesaid, truly and faithfully, and according to the
best of their judgment, to execute the duty hereby committed to
them, and shall return to the levy court of said county a certificate,
under their hands, of their qualification according to the provisions
of this act, and of their proceedings in pursuance thereof. |

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the records of
the county surveyors
in each county in this state, shall be and they are hereby
declared to be hereafter, public property, and transmissible from
each surveyor to his successor as other public records now are. |

An Act making public a Parcel of Ground at the junction of Bridge
and Harford-streets in the City of Baltimore.

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the city commissioners of Baltimore be and they are hereby authorised,
upon oath or affirmation, to ascertain and determine the
full and fair value of the lot of ground situated at the junction of
Bridge and Harford-streets in the city of Baltimore, formerly
owned by Henry Zeigler, and now by the widow and children of
John Fauselbaugh, deceased, and to return such valuation, together
with the plot of said ground, under their hands and seals, to the
register's office of said city, there to be kept and preserved as
other public papers; and the said commissioners shall apportion
and assess the amount of said valuation upon the owners of property,
which in their judgment would be benefitted by making public
the said lot of ground, which apportionment shall be by them
returned together with the plot and valuation aforesaid. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the city collector
of Baltimore
be and he is hereby authorised and required, to collect from the
persons so chargeable the amount of the said valuation, with six
per centum thereon for collecting the same, and if need be to sell
the property, or such part thereof as may be necessary to satisfy
and pay the portion of said value assessed thereon, if the same be
not paid within two months after the return of such assessment |
