CHAP. 33.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

constituting the museum, to hold to the said James Mosher,
John McKim, junior, Robert Carey Long, Alexander Fridge, and
Henry Robinson, and the survivors and survivor of them, in trust,
to secure to the stockholders aforesaid the payment of the semi-annual
dividends on each share of stock pursuant to this act, and the repayment
of the principal of the said shares of stock to each stockholder,
or his assigns, on or after the first day of January one thousand
eight hundred and twenty-six.

On failure to pay

    5.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That if at any time the semi-annual
dividend, payable to any stockholder, shall be unpaid for the space
of six months after the same shall be due and demanded of the
said trustees, or of any one of them, it shall be lawful for the
chancellor, on application of such stockholder, to decree a sale of the
said museum, and other property, or any part thereof, for the purpose
of paying out of the proceeds of such sale, as well the amount
of the principal stock, as also of all dividends which shall be due
thereon to the time of such sale.
Voucher to justify
trustees in paying
claims.
    6.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the certificate of the said Rembrandt
Peale shall be a sufficient voucher to justify the said trustees
in the payment of any claim on account of the building, furnishing
or improving, the said museum.

                                            CHAP. XXXVII.
An Act, entitled, A supplement to the act* for opening and extending
    North-Street in the City of Baltimore.

North street to be
extended.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the city commissioners of Baltimore be and they are hereby empowered,
to open and extend North-street, on the east side of
Jones's Falls, from the point of its intersection with High-street,
fifty feet in width, including the foot pavement, measuring from
Humes' warehouse, standing on the south east corner, and running
through the same width, until its eastern boundary line intersects
Jones's-street, at the south west corner of Gilbert Middleton's
dwelling house, and the said street, when so opened and extended,
shall be deemed and taken, and is hereby declared to be, a public
street and highway for ever thereafter.
Freeholders to assess
damages.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the mayor of the city of Baltimore
be and he is hereby empowered to appoint five freeholders, inhabitants
of the city, and not interested in the premises, commissioners,
