CHARLES RIDGELY, OF HAMPTON, ESQ. GOVERNOR.

proceedings by justices of the peace, under the act of seventeen
hundred and ninety three, chapter forty-three, for the speedy recovery
of lands and tenements, and also in all cases of inquest for
a forcible entry and detainer, or a forcible detainer, the party obtaining
the said writ of certiorari, shall give bond, with security,
to the opposed party, to be approved by the judge or court allowing
such writ, in such penalty as said judge or court shall direct,
conditioned for the payment of all costs and damages that may be
incurred or suffered by he delay of the proceedings, if the matter
in controversy upon such writ shall be decided against the person
obtaining the same.

                                CHAP. CLXXXVIII.
An Act for the relief of Thomas Noble, of Somerset County.  Lib.

Passed Feb. 3, 1817.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the justices of the levy court of Somerset county, be, and they are
hereby authorised and directed, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding thirty dollars,
for the support and maintenance of Thomas Noble, and the
same shall be collected annually by the collector of Somerset county,
and by him paid to the said Thomas Noble, or to his order.
Levy authorised
for his support.

                                  CHAP. CLXXXIX.
An Act for the benefit of Isaac Tier, of Worcester County.  Lib. TH.
                                      No. 5, fol. 336.
Passed Feb. 3, 1817.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the levy court of Worcester county be, and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, at their levy court annually, so long as they
shall deem it necessary, to levy on the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding twenty dollars, for the support
and maintenance of the said Isaac Tier, and that the same be
collected annually by the collector of Worcester county, and by
him paid to the said Isaac Tier, or his order.

for his support.
                                        CHAP. CXC.
A Further Supplement to an act*, entitled, An act for building a
  Bridge over the River Susquehanna.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the president and directors of the Conowingo Bridge Company be
and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to take and subscribe
for any number of shares in the Baltimore and Harford
Turnpike Company†, not exceeding ten thousand dollars, and for
a like amount in the stock of any company which now is, or hereafter
may be, incorporated, for making a turnpike road from said
bridge, in Cecil county, to the Pennsylvania line.
