                                        CHAP. CXCV.
An Act to pay the Civil List and other expenses of Civil Government,
    for the year eighteen hundred and fifteen.

CHAP. 195.

Passed Jan. 28, 1816.

    WHEREAS those who dedicate their time, abilities and labour, to
the public, ought to receive a reasonable and adequate compensation
for their services, and no provision hath been made for the
payment of the civil list for the year eighteen hundred and fifteen;
therefore,
Preamble.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the following officers of civil government for the year one thousand
eight hundred and fifteen, shall be entitled to receive at the rate of
the following salaries in current money, to wit:  The treasurer of
the western shore, two thousand dollars; the treasurer of the eastren
shore, four hundred and fifty dollars, which sum he hath retained,
as will appear by his account passed by the committee of
claims; the auditor eight hundred dollars; the clerk of the council
one thousand dollars; the clerk of the senate one hundred and fifty
dollars; ther clerk of the house of delegates three hundred dollars;
the messenger to the council two hundred and fifty dollars; the
printer to the state thirteen hundred dollars.
Salaries allowed.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That all monies which shall remain in
the treasury after discharging the journal of accounts, and all unappropriated
money which may come into the treasury, be first applied
to the payment of the civil list for the year eighteen hundred
and fifteen.

    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the printer to the state shall be
entitled to receive in advance out of any unappropriated money in
the treasury, the one fourth part of the salary herein allowed to
him.

An Act for the benefit of Elizabeth Barrow, the Widow, and the Devisees
     of William Barrow, late of Dorchester County, deceased.

                                    CHAP. CXCVII.
An Act to confirm and make valid the Proceedings of the Orphans
            Court of Frederick County.

Passed Jan. 28, 1816.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the proceedings and decisions of the orphans court of Frederick
county, which have taken place since the first Monday in December
last, shall be and the same are hereby made as valid, and to all intents
and purposes as if there had been a register of wills in commission
for said county, and that all rules, judgments, entries, process
and proceedings, now depending in said court, shall be and
the same are hereby revived, and shall be in same and condition,
to all intents and purposes, as the same would have been in,
if the said sessions of the orphans court had been regularly held
at the time appointed by law.
