Additional sum to
be levied. |
LAWS OF MARYLAND.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the additional sum
of three
thousand dollars be levied and assessed in the manner prescribed
by the act to which this is a supplement; that is to say, one
third in the year eighteen hundred and sixteen, another third in
the year eighteen hundred and seventeen, and the remainder in the
year eighteen hundred and eighteen; which sums, together with the
commission for collecting the same, shall be collected in the mode
pointed out in the original act.

Repeal. |
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all such part or
parts of the act
to which this is a supplement, as is or are repugnant to this act, be
and the same is and are hereby repealed. |

BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
Clement Dorsey, Charles L. Smith, Theodore Mudd, Nicholas
Miles and Zephaniah Waters, be and they are hereby appointed
commissioners in lieu of those named in the act to which this is a
supplement, and are fully invested with all the rights, powers and
privileges, given to the commissioners named in the act to which
this is a supplement. |

CHAP. CXXVIII.
An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Harford County to levy money

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the levy court of Harford county shall levy such sum of money as
they in their judgment shall deem necessary, not exceeding three
hundred dollars, for erecting a bridge over a washed gutter, occasioned
by the overflowing of Deer Creek, at Robert Gover's
mills, on the road leading from St. George's chapel to Havre-de-Grace. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That Joshua Husband
is hereby appointed
to superintend the erection of said bridge, and required to
do the same or have it done at the least possible expense, that will
serve the public convenience, as he in his judgment shall think
proper.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Joshua
Husband shall
be allowed one dollar and fifty cents per day for every day that he
shall necessarily attend in performing the duties imposed upon him
by this act, and shall draw orders upon the collector in whose hands
the money may be placed by the levy court, in favor of the labourers
or such persons as may furnish materials for erecting said
bridge, as contracted for by him, which orders, with receipts
thereof, shall be sufficient vouchers for the collector in settling his
account with the court; Provided, that the same shall not exceed
the
sum levied for the purpose of building the bridge as aforesaid. |
