BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That
the several appointments made by the different banks in this state,
of managers of the Cumberland turnpike road company, and all
their proceedings had under such appointments, shall be, and are
hereby declared to be, as valid as if the said managers had been
appointed agreeably to law. |

CHAP. CXVI.
An Act authorising the Levy Court of Prince-George's County to levy
on said County money for the support of sundry Persons
as Out-Pensioners.

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for the levy court of Prince-George's
county to assess and levy annually, on the assessable property of
said county, so long as they may deem necessary, such sum as to
them may seem reasonable, not exceeding thirty dollars each, for
the support of Mary Mayhem, Rachel Damson, Elizabeth Piles,
Mary O'Neal, Anne O'Neal, James Linch, James Waroon, senior,
David Gibson, John Pierce, senior, and an afflicted child of Sarah
Locker, and such others as in their judgement may required aid, not
exceeding fifteen, including the above named persons, as out-pensioners,
which sums, when levied, shall be collected and paid over
by the collector of said county to the persons authorised by the said
court to receive the same, for the benefit of the persons abovementioned. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be lawful
for the said
levy court to order the collector of the county to pay to any of the
above mentioned persons who may appear to them to be in a suffering
condition, such sum as they may judge necessary for the relief
of such person, out of any surplus money which may remain in his
hands unappropriated. |

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be lawful
for said court to
allow Issac Ball such sum as they may deem reasonable, not exceeding
fifty dollars annually, so long as they shall see cause, for
the support of such of the infant children of the late Thomas Ball,
as the said court may deem necessary to provide for as out-pensioners. |
