CHAP. 73.

                                LAWS OF MARYLAND.

be kept up and repaired, and may allow such supervisor such compensation
for his services as they may deem reasonable; and the
inhabitants of the said town and precincts, shall not be compelled
to do any labour or repairs on the public roads of said county, beyond
the limits of said town and precincts, or to pay any sum
or sums of money for keeping the same in repair.

Precincts defined.     15.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the eastern precincts of the said
town shall contain all those lots or parcels of ground which are embraced
by the line extending from Bombay Hook Bridge along the
back of Disharoon's, Doctor Jones's, Colonel Handy's, and the
lot at present occupied by Israel Planter, to the county road leading
to Snow-Hill; that the southern precincts of the said town shall
contain all those lots or parcels of ground which are embraced by
the line extending westerly along the said county road, till it crosses
the town, parallel with the southern extremity thereof, and
reaches the sink or gully extending in the rear of L. D. Teackle's
grounds; that the western precincts of the said town shall contain
all those lots or parcels of ground which are embraced by the line
extending northerly with the said sink or gully, in the rear of said
Teackle's grounds, till it strikes the Menokin river, and thence up
the river to the town bridge; that the northern precincts of the said
town shall contain all those lots or parcels of ground which are embraced
by the line extending from the margin of the said river, opposite
the branch or gully, on the western side of Gideon Pearce's
grounds, thence up the said gully to the northern extremity thereof,
and thence by a line extending easterly with the northern extremity
of said Pearce's grounds, passing the lot of William Crockett,
the meeting house, and the county road, to the north-east branch of
the river aforesaid, and thence by and with the river to the bridge
of Bombay Hook.

                                         CHAP. LXXIV.
An Act to appoint Thomas R. Hodges, of the Town of Upper Marlborough,
    Prince-George's County, Trustee for the Sale of a certain
    Tract of Land therein mentioned.

    Private Act.

    Empowered to sell a tract of land called Alexandria, in which he has a life estate,
and to which his two children, Mary Ann and Benjamin, will be entitled
after his death.

                                           CHAP. LXXV.
An Act to establish a Bank, and incorporate a Company to be styled
            The Bank of Westminster.  Lib. TH. No. 4, fol. 512.
Bank established.     1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
a bank to be called and known by the name od The Bank of Westminster,
shall be established in the town of Westminster, in Frederick
county, and that the capital stock of the said bank shall be
limited to three hundred thousand dollars, to consist of twelve thousand
shares of twenty-five dollars each.
Stocks of subscription
to be opened.
    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That a book of subscription for nine
thousand shares shall be opened at Westminster, under the direction
of William Durben, senior, Jesse Slingluff, Alexander Warfield,
Samuel Stevenson, Joshua Gist, Joshua Cockey, Francis
Hollingsworth, Adam Spower, David Kephart, Jacob Sherman,
