3. AND whereas the legislature of this state
hath put at the disposal
of the trustees aforesaid the sum of six hundred dollars, to
be distributed to out pensioners in said county; therefore, BE IT
ENACTED, that the trustees aforesaid be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, in their discretion, to keep any number
of out-pensioners, and to allow to each of such pensioners an annual
pension not exceeding thirty dollars, to be paid out of said
six hundred dollars, and at such times as they may direct. |

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the
duty of the trustees
aforesaid to distribute the said sum of six hundred dollars
among the poor, in the election districts of said county, agreeably
to the population of said districts. |

to make a Turnpike Road from the City of Baltimore to

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
wherever the location of the new road, authorised by the act to
which this is a supplement, may have departed from the bed of the
old road, it shall be lawful for the justices of the levy courts of
either Baltimore or Harford counties, where such departure may
exist, to authorise the shutting up of such part of the said old road
as shall be departed from by the said new road, if the same be desired
by the party through whose land such part of the said old
road may pass. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That wherever by the
departure of the
new road from the bed of the old road it may be necessary to extend
to the new road any road which at present leads into and intersects
the old road, it shall be lawful for the justices of the levy
court of Baltimore or Harford counties respectively, as the case
may be, to cause to be located, marked and established, as public
roads, the extensions of such roads from the intersection of the
old road to the new road, in such direction as the nature of the
ground will admit, and most likely to preserve their public utility,
with the least private inconvenience, and in width not exceeding
that of the road thus extended; Provided however, that the shutting
up of said road shall be authorised in those instances only
where, in the opinion of the said justices, the public convenience
of travelling shall be usefully and sufficiently preserved by the extending
of the intersecting roads as herein before provided. |

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all transfers of
stock in said
company, executed either in person or by attorney, in the presence
of the secretary of the said company, shall have the same effect and
validity as if such transfers had been executed in the presence of
the president or treasurer of the said company. |
