An Act relative to the unfinished Records of Frederick County.  Lib.

CHAP. 43.

    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Frederick county shall be and they
are hereby authorised and directed, to contract with some suitable
person to make, enter and complete, the records in the office of the
clerk of Frederick county remaining unfinished at the time of the
death of the late clerk, William Ritchie, deceased, so that the annual
expense thereof shall not exceed the sum of three hundred dollars,
to be levied annually, for a term not exceeding three years,
with other county assessments, and the records so made shall be
as valid and effectual as if the same had been completed in the life
time of the said William Ritchie, whose heirs, representatives and
securities, are hereby released from their liability on his office bond,
so far as the condition thereof relates to the making, entering and
completing, the records aforesaid.

                                       CHAP. XLV.
An Act to lay out and make public a Road in Cecil County.  Lib.

    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
James Beard, Thomas White and James Gillespie, of Cecil county,
be and they are hereby appointed commissioners for the purposes
of this act, and that they, or a majority of them, are hereby
authorised and required to survey and lay out a road, not exceeding
thirty feet wide, clear of ditches, beginning on the road leading
from Peach Bottom Ferry to Christiana Bridge, at or near
the north east corner of Joseph Haine's orchard, and the dividing
line of lots Nos. 8 and 9, thence along said line between the lands
of Joseph Haines and William Kirk, thence between the lands of 
said Kirk, Samuel Taylor and Mary Haines, until it intersects the
public road from the Bald Fryer Ferry to Christiana Bridge,
thence across said road, and through the lands of Job Haines, until
it intersects the division line of the lands of Job Haines, and the
heirs of Elisha Kirk, and thence along said line until it intersects
a public road from the Rising Sum in West Nottingham, to Charlestown;
Provided, that the said road shall not be made to pass
through the buildings, yards, gardens or orchards, of any person
or persons, without the consent of the owner of owners thereof.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the commissioners
aforesaid, or a majority of them, on or before the first
Monday of September next, to cause a plot and certificate of said
road to be made, and return the same to the levy court of Cecil
county, at the first sitting thereafter; and if the levy court of said
county, upon consideration of all circumstances, shall be of opinion
that the said road will be of advantage, then and in such case
the clerk of said county shall record the same plot and certificate,
whereupon it shall and may be lawful for the levy court of said
county to levy upon the assessable property of said county such
