An Act for the relief of Debby Ann McCoy, an Infant, of Anne-Arundel
                       County.

    WHEREAS Walter Pumphrey of Anne-Arundel county, by his
petition to this general assembly has set forth, that a certain
Thomsey McCoy of said county, departed this life some time in the
year eighteen hundred and eleven, leaving a female child aged
about three years, and there being no person to support and take
care of said child, has prayed that a law may pass authorising the
levy court of Anne-Arundel county to assess and levy a sum of
money for that purpose; therefore,
Preamble.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the justices of the levy court of Anne-Arundel county, be and they
are hereby authorised and directed, to assess and levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding 
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Debby
Ann McCoy, and that the same be collected and paid annually for
the term of nine years, to Walter Pumphrey, or his order, by the
collector of said county.

                                   CHAP.  CLXXIII.
An Act to make public an old Road leading from South River Church,
    to intersect the Annapolis Road to West River.

Passed Dec. 29.
    WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly by the petition
of sundry inhabitants of Anne-Arundel county, that the convenience
of the public would be promoted by opening and establishing
an old road called the Club House Road, leading from South
River Church to intersect the Annapolis road to West River; therefore,
Preamble.
    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Colonel Richard Harwood, William Stewart and Joseph Watkins (a),
be and they are hereby appointed commissioners, to lay out and
open, at the expense of those persons who shall conceive themselves
benefitted thereby, the old road, not exceeding twenty feet
wide, beginning at the road which passes South River church, and
running until it intersects the Annapolis road leading to West
River.

    (a)  By 1816, ch. 228, other commissioners appointed in lieu of those herein
named.

    2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners, or a
majority of them, shall and they are hereby directed and required,
to make, or cause to be made, a plot of said road, and when surveyed
as aforesaid, and shall make return of the said plot, together
with a certificate of the courses of said road, to the clerk of Anne-Arundel
county, to be recorded among the records of said county;
and when the same shall be laid out, made and opened, as directed
by this act, the said road shall for ever thereafter be deemed a
public highway, and shall be kept in repair as other public roads
of Anne-Arundel county; Provided, that said commissioners shall
not lay out and open the said road through the buildings, gardens,
orchards or meadows, of any person or persons, without their consent.
